Sema Rae, a drum maker and song-catcher from Turkey, and Noah Proudfoot, a songwriter from the Blue Ridge Mountains, met one year ago under auspicious circumstances. The power of their musical and spiritual connection was undeniable, and they began sharing mantra and devotional songs with their community in Asheville, North Carolina. They now host the weekly Kirtan in Asheville, have toured across the Southeast, released their first single, and most excitingly- are now engaged. For Sema and Noah, the practice of Kirtan is a much needed medicine in today's world- allowing people from all walks of life to come together and immerse themselves in the healing frequencies of these ancient prayers. The couple continues to work on recording their first collection of Kirtan songs, and is excited to continue sharing these powerful mantras.
