The best dang yoga fest this side of the Mississippi!
Bio:
From Tedx to festivals and venues up and down the East Coast, Noah Proudfoot is a soul-powered songwriter doing things a little differently. Using elements of funk, R&B, and indie-folk, his soulful voice stirs the human spirit and dives beneath the static of daily life. Studied in poetry and certified as a yoga and mindfulness facilitator, his lyrics are carefully crafted to motivate and inspire. His full band, Noah Proudfoot and the Botanicals, broadcasts these messages on a much larger scale, gaining attention in the transformational music scene and attracting a following of like minded fans. With the recent addition of female vocalist Cicada Evergreen, their sound has reached a new level of depth and fullness, showcasing rich three-part harmonies and an onstage energy that will have you smiling from the first song. Longtime drummer and vocalist, Ben Stockdale, carries the foundational groove of the music, drawing on influences such as Hiatus Kaiyote and Little Dragon. Over the years they've had the honor of performing alongside acts such as Matisyahu, Gone Gone Beyond, Satsang and Yaima- sharing songs that have touched the hearts of listeners across the country. This winter they are excited to release new material from their upcoming album- the first release in over three years. Stay in touch to catch them at venues and festivals around the region in 2023, as they continue to expand their mission of spreading harmony and connection far and wide.
"Just over two years have passed since Asheville’s Noah Proudfoot released his debut full-length album, Sing Sweet World. In the interim, he’s toured and played festivals backed by a full band known as The Botanicals. According to Proudfoot, they’ve been “learning new songs and putting a fresh coat of paint on older ones,” and are ready to release their first recorded material. Produced by Peter Brownlee (Midnight Snack), the five-song EP Travel Light combines blues guitar, steel pan drums and an active rhythm section while “exploring themes of adventure, simple joys and beauty amidst brokenness.” The band plays a CD release show on Friday, Aug. 24, at Asheville Music Hall. The night begins at 9 with opening sets from a pair of fellow local acts: indie-pop/soul band Hustle Souls and neo-soul rockers Sister Ivy."
